Peeel is my personal side project where I design limited run poster prints, apparel and lifestyle accessories for the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu community. I was born and raised in SoCal ranging from San Diego to Venice Beach and everywhere inbetween. Growing up in SoCal in the nineties exposed me to the punk rock, hip-hop and skate culture eventually leading me to play in various indie bands; simultaneously giving birth to my design career.

Training and competing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has given me a lot of insight to the existing brands in that space and what they're producing. I noticed brands simply slapping their logos on rashguards, gis, t-shirts, and didn't see anything that captured the peripherals of the lifestyle. Where were the zines I grew up with? The posters? Event flyers I felt obligated to pin all over my walls? I came to realize the thing was missing in the Jiu-Jitsu community was the very energy that gave birth to my own design career.

With that, I set out to start Peeel, initially beginning with designing 100 limited edition signed and autographed (12"x18") posters. In less than thirty days, it's garnered attention from several grappling publications and has led to comissions and collaborations from two of the largest brands in the industry. Orders have been shipped all over the U.S., UK, Mexico and Pacific Islands. I'm currently working on a line of wood and epoxy line of products and will be printing my first run of apparel Spring 2019.
